1. 01

   Day 1: Dax to Hossegor (45 km, 170 m ascent)

   Leave the spa town of Dax behind and head in under the canopy of the Landes. A free-rolling, soothing stage through the pines that opens onto the laid-back mood of Hossegor. Make the most of the sea lake for a salty, relaxing end to the day.

   Things to do:

   • Swim and taste oysters at the Hossegor lake

   • Wander the town centre and its Basque-Landes architecture

   • Go shopping at the famous surf brand outlets.

   • Enjoy the magnificent sunset at Santocha beach

2. 02

   Day 2: Hossegor to Biarritz (37 km, 110 m ascent)

   Follow the coast on the cycle path towards the Basque Country. The landscape changes: long sandy beaches give way to steep cliffs. The majestic arrival at the Biarritz lighthouse offers a sweeping view over the ocean.

   Things to do:

   Ride through the Chiberta forest in Anglet

   Walk to the Rocher de la Vierge and along the Grande Plage

   Stop for a bite at the Halles de Biarritz market

   Have a sunset drink at the Côte des Basques

3. 03

   Day 3: Biarritz to Urt (28 km, 120 m ascent)

   Say goodbye to the sea spray and head up the banks of the Adour. This quieter route takes you into the inland Basque Country. Between meadows and small river ports, you reach the charming village of Urt in a peaceful, unspoilt setting.

   Things to do:

   Discover the historic centre of Bayonne

   Taste local produce at a nearby farm

   Walk the towpath along the banks of the Adour

   Explore the port and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church in Urt

4. 04

   Day 4: Urt to Dax (49 km, 130 m ascent)

   The last stage of this inland loop. The terrain stays gentle as you cross the Barthes de l'Adour, wetland meadows rich in wildlife. A calm return to Dax to round off this magical 4-day break.

   Things to do:

   • Relax at the foot of the Fontaine Chaude hot spring in Dax

   • Visit the Notre-Dame cathedral or the Borda museum

   • Stop for a treat and taste a madeleine de Dax

   • End the day with a spa treatment
